Megan loves the prospect of a new adventure and unique experiences. Since she was little she’s admired sloths from afar and knew that she wanted to share her wish experience with the animal she had loved for so long. A world-renowned sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica was the perfect location to observe and learn about sloths in their native environment.

Costa Rica and visiting sloths was an adventure that Megan and her family wanted to have before the change brought on by the treatment of her illness. “For our family, participating in the wish experience has been a welcome reprieve from procedures, tests, doctor visits and daily challenges pertaining to Megan’s health,” Megan’s mother explained.

To fall asleep with the sounds of the jungle and wake up to her wish being granted provided Megan the adventure she had been dreaming of. While on her wish she stayed in ecologically friendly lodging, met the local community, and swam in the ocean. She had the opportunity to learn about the animal she has loved while exploring more about the sanctuary’s work in caring for the sloths and reintroducing them back into the wild.

“Watching her plan her wish and be excited about the future has been wonderful. This wish will give Megan and our family an experience we would not be able to have otherwise. It is a true gift,” shared Megan’s mom, Jeni.
