Thirteen year old Codi from Casper loves chocolate, volleyball, pie, and making beaded jewelry. Codi seems like a normal teenager with a bright, contagious smile, but she suffers from Familial Adennometius Polyposis, a life-threatening illness.
It was because of this illness that Codi and her family were referred to Make-A-Wish® Wyoming.
When Codi was asked by Make-A-Wish volunteers, Pam Pepin and Tina Sparby, “if she could have one wish what would it be?” she knew exactly what she wanted – to go on a cruise to Jamaica and hear people talk with a Jamaican accent.
Codi’s wish came true when she and her family flew to Florida to board the cruise ship. The family was waiting for a taxi to take them to the port when a black limousine pulled up; Codi was left speechless when she learned it was arranged just for her! The limo was the first of many surprises awaiting Codi and her family during the trip. Codi got to meet the captain of the ship, as well as the head chef. VIP front row seats and backstage passes to all productions, along with private surf lessons, a zip-line excursion, Jamaican “slang” lessons, and endless goodie baskets made it a trip the whole family will remember for years to come.
We cannot thank Bill and Gaye Farleigh enough for their support of Make-A-Wish Wyoming and making Codi’s wish come true.
